Sweetwater

Lydia is the writer, director, and associate producer of her Toronto Metropolitan University thesis film, Sweetwater (produced by Molly Greenblatt and Thorn Pictures, Director of Photography - Sarah Sun). A coming-of-age romantic drama, Sweetwater is set against the backdrop of the Gay Liberation Movement of the 1970s, when a pastor’s daughter begins a high-stakes clandestine relationship with another girl, a rebellious outcast, while working in their small town’s flower shop, the summer before going off to college. Sweetwater is part of the official selection for the 2025 Gimli International Film Festival, where it will make its world premiere in July.
